Yes, the quoted price may change after the groomer checks your pet’s coat condition, size, behaviour and requested style in person. We will try to inform you before proceeding if there are significant additional charges.

Even pets of the same breed can have very different grooming needs. For example, one Cavapoo may have soft, well-maintained fur, while another may have thick, curly, tangled fur. The grooming time and difficulty can be very different, so the price may not be the same.

We look at both breed and weight, but not weight alone. Some smaller dogs may have high-maintenance coats, while some larger dogs may have simpler coats. Coat type and grooming difficulty are also important factors.

Doodles and poodle mixes can vary a lot in coat texture, thickness, curliness, and maintenance needs. Breeds such as Cavapoos, Cockapoos, Maltipoos, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, Bernedoodles, Sheepadoodles, Aussiedoodles and other poodle mixes usually require more brushing, drying, clipping and styling time compared to many other breeds.

This is usually recommended when the fur is matted, tangled, too thick, or when the owner wants something very low maintenance. Teddy Bear Cut / Equivalent Style A teddy bear cut is a styled haircut where the fur is kept slightly fluffier and shaped to look cute, rounded, and balanced. The body is usually clipped to a manageable length, while the face, ears, legs, and tail may be shaped more carefully to achieve a softer look. “Equivalent style” means any similar styled haircut that requires more shaping than a shave down, but is not fully hand-scissored all over. Best for: Poodles, doodles, bichons, maltipoos, pomeranians, shih tzus, etc. Owners who want a cute, fluffy, rounded look Pets with enough coat length to shape Look: Fluffy, rounded, cute, styled. Price: Higher than shave down because it takes more time and shaping. 3. Full Hand Scissoring Full hand scissoring is the most detailed and time-consuming haircut. Instead of mainly using clippers on the body, the groomer shapes most or all of the coat by hand using scissors. This gives a softer, more natural, plush, customised finish. It requires more skill, patience, and time, especially for fluffy breeds or owners who want a very specific shape. If your dog has mats or tangles, our groomer will assess the coat condition before recommending the safest and most suitable option. Depending on the severity of the matting, the options may include: 1. Shave down This means shaving the coat short to safely remove the mats. This is usually recommended for moderate to severe matting, or when removing the mats by brushing would be too uncomfortable for your dog. 2. Shave off only the matted areas For mats in hidden areas, such as the armpits, inner thighs, or behind the ears, we may be able to shave only the affected areas. However, if the mats are on more visible areas, this may cause patchiness or unevenness in the final groom. Additional charges will apply if your dog is not doing a Full Groom. 3. Dematting For minor tangles or manageable mats, we may be able to gently brush them out. Dematting charges start from $10 for minor tangles or mats, and from $50 for moderate to severe matting, depending on the time and difficulty involved.

No. For your dog’s safety and comfort, not all mats can be dematted. If the fur is pelted, very tight, or the mats are too close to the skin, we will not demat the coat. In these cases, the only safe option is usually a full shave down. Our groomers will always prioritise your dog’s comfort, skin safety, and overall wellbeing over appearance.
